  • Is Owning a Still Legal?

    Yes, owning a still is legal; however there are some products that it is not legal to make with the still in your own home, such as spirits or high proof alcohol (whisky, rye, rum etc)
  • Can I start my own business selling alcohol I make with a still?

    It is not legal to make any form of alcohol in Canada for the purpose of re-selling to the general public without a Distillers license. Please check government rules and regulations.
  • If I can’t make spirits with a still, what can I make?

  • What are your refund policies?

    If the product does not perform as advertised you can return it for a full refund within 30 days. You must pay return shipping costs.
  • How easy is it to assemble a still?

    Assembly is very easy however there are many different ways to assemble a still. There are many terrific resources throughout our site that can help you or email Big Bert with any questions. We will be happy to reply within 24 hours.
  • Is Big Bert really a cat??

    Bert is a mean, nasty, 22lb rat eating cat who knows more about running a still than the owner. Big Bert is the fool writing this.

    Payments are accepted via Paypal. You will be sent an invoice from our Paypal account to your email address, then you simply input your credit card through Paypals' secure servers.
  • What happens with my information when I've made a payment?

    Because Payment is only accepted through Paypal's secure servers, no personally identifiable information is retained on Broken Oar's website or servers. Only the non personally identifiable information required for Governmental and taxation purposes will be retained.
